Veronica + Dominic’s Highlights from the Fairmont Banff Springs

Veronica + Dom couldn’t have picked a more beautiful location to get married – in the alpine wonderland (and Canadian gem) known as Banff, Alberta.  Everywhere you look there are mountains and when you pull up to the Banff Springs Hotel all the grandeur of this location hits home.  For us, the grandeur was first seen at night since we flew in the night before after having filmed a wedding and same-day-edit in Toronto.  We arrived at the hotel at around 2:30 am but knew the next day would be an amazing one. Let me explain why…

From the minute they were in touch, Veronica and Dom we so kind and thoughtful. They initially booked without actually meeting us, but then were in Vancouver one day a number of months ago and we had a really nice chat at our office.  As their wedding drew closer, they were always checking in with us to see if there was anything we needed, knowing that we were coming in from out of town to film their wedding.  It’s so important to have a great relationship with your clients and I could tell that their film was so important for them. At their reception they even wrote a personalized thank you and attached it to a custom wine bottle case. It was sitting at our place at dinner when we sat down – what an amazing touch!

Theirs is a love story that spans years and one that was so magical to witness (even moreso after hearing the speeches at their reception).  I knew when they were saying their vows to each other that it would become the basis for their wedding film highlights trailer. It’s amazing how you can really get to know a couple by what they choose to say to each other during their wedding ceremony and what others say about them at the reception.  The love surrounding them from their friends and family all day was palpable.

Here’s the highlights trailer that we put together for them.  Thanks again Veronica and Dom for having us be a part of your wedding day!

Wow, thanks everybody! Veronica and Dom were a great couple and the location was awesome! Thanks for watching! On a technical note, this wedding was shot entirely with the Canon 5DmkII (even the timelapses).

Wow Bruce. Good to know. I guess I can put my EX3 down for my time lapse. Everything is so clean.

WOW!!!
Thank-you to Bruce and Camila who are absolutely amazing!! Dominic and I had the most amazing day of our lives and you captured every emotion perfectly. I have now watched this trailer more than 50 times and the tears and emotion return each time. I feel truly blessed and honoured that you were a part of our wedding. Words can not describe how grateful Dom and I are to you both…

Thank you for to everyone for all the comments.

To answer some of your questions my sister-in-law and I designed the entire wedding and worked for months without sleep to ensure every detail was as we pictured it. The flowers were done by Christina Keim and believe it or not she does this “on the side”!!

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you

Bruce,

You were such a joy to work with. Your professionalism, your vision and your ability to work to capture all the moments is evident in this piece. You captured their day beautifully. I have watched this several times with tears in my eyes. You are a gifted storyteller! It is fascinating to see their wedding day through your eyes. You captured it all in just this trailer in all the little details you included. Photographing this wedding was one of the highlights of my career. Getting to witness their love story, their commitment to each other and their families was inspiring and heartwarming. You captured it all beautifully and I was thrilled to work with you on the day.
